Welcome!
My name is Eve Bevill, and I am a fourth year teacher at Pickens Middle School. I spent my first two years teaching Resource, and, while that was rewarding, I have come back to my first love: history.
South Carolina is my home; I was born and raised in the Pee Dee, spent huge chunks of my summers on the Grand Strand, and moved to the Upstate for college.
There are, of course, things I love apart from my home state, but a lot of them
are rooted in this place. For example, food! I love barbecue (particularly the
kind from the Pee Dee region), shrimp and grits, and Frogmore Stew (aka
Lowcountry Boil). I graduated from Clemson University, so my allegiances to that
school should be obvious. I also love the beach, and I don't need crystal clear
water to be happy. I'm perfectly content with the murky waters of the Atlantic.
Recently, I've discovered that I enjoy writing, so I have linked to a few of the pieces I have written. Students, please be gentle in your criticism.
